Academic and Professional English

The course is ideal for students planning to continue their studies at university or planning to work in the UK. This course is designed for students who wish to concentrate more on academic and professional skills. The class focuses on writing skills — business reports and proposals, academic essays — from 250 words to 2000 words — academic listening skills, note-taking and summarising, business presentations using visual aids, and examination preparation skills. The course also looks at study skills, research skills, critical thinking and cultural studies.

Who is this course for?

For students who want to improve and consolidate their English specifically with a view to continuing their academic studies in an English speaking environment , as well as students who wish to maximise their potential in a professional working environment.

Entry Criteria

The school offers 2 levels: Intermediate and Advanced. Upon arrival students will meet with a senior member of our staff to ensure that they are being placed in the appropriate level in order for the student to meet their learning objectives.
